Cargo Duffle!

It is absolutely gorgeous outside today!  So I headed outdoors to photograph the new bag that I made. Yet another creation I am in LOVE with!  This one is the Cargo Duffle by Noodle-head.  You can get the FREE pdf pattern over here at Robert Kaufman.  It was a pretty easy project.  I took my time quilting the pieces and got reacquainted with my machine.  It gets a little challenging with all the layers, but if you take your time and use the proper needle and thread it comes together nicely.   I really enjoyed working on this bag.  All in all it took me about two days to complete, working on and off during my days.  I will be making a few more of these for sure!  It is the perfect size for my little four year old niece as an over night suitcase.  It's also perfect to tote around books and my e-readers and iPad on road trips.  Toiletries would fit perfectly in here including the blow dryer on longer trips.  It could also be made in plain canvas or leather for a man bag too.  Great pattern!  Now go make one! =)

Think I'm headed back out to that pool.  The water is cold but the sun is warm!

Room With A View

This has been the view from my balcony this weekend.  Actually, I chose to enjoy a majestic pink orange sunset without looking through a lens the other night as well.  I am so in love with this view of ours!

Who does this?  Does any one know what kind of birds those are?  And where the heck to they keep those kinds of birds..  Must have very large cages.  Can you imagine the poop!  LOL

Anyway, that was totally awesome to see.

The next morning I awoke to this!  For real.  I was waving like crazy.  Like a crazy woman in her pajamas and slippers at 7:30 am!  They had to see me.  There is NO WAY they didn't.  Maybe they were more concerned with passing over my building than waving to me!! Again LOL

I feel like at this point they saw me, but then realized how close they actually were to the building!

Our awesome pumpkin!  I made Dave pay extra for that stem!  So spoiled!  But seriously, this made my day =)

Last but not least by any means, here is my doctor bag!  I love how it turned out, even though it is MUCH smaller than I thought it would be.  Don't ask me why.  I read the pattern and instructions.  Not sure why I thought all tubular hardware came in one size!  Seriously, I know better, but I actually made the bag and then checked to see what size my bag frame really was.  Too big.  Of course.  Oh well, a little tweaking and I think it will work out just fine.

I have been following Sara Lawson's Sew Sweetness blog Purse Palooza and one of her daily questions for a give away inspired me to dig this hardware out and give a tapestry bag a shot.  Check out her blog all you bag/sewing enthusiasts!  Much inspiration to be had over there!

Have a fabulous week everyone!

Shelly Jack-O-Lantern

Made this trick or treat jack-o-lantern bag for my niece.  Saw something like it at a book store and thought "I could make that".  Ta Da!  Super easy.  Just used felt and webbing I had in my stash for the face and handles.  Orange felt and lining fabric cost me about $7.00.  It is a little larger than I had anticipated, but that's ok, more candy to hold!

I change my bags and wallets out often and always have a ton of change to transfer.  Thought it would be nice to just keep all my change in one place from now own.  So, here is my favorite new wise owl change keeper that I whipped up with some scrap fabric.  I am in love with this little guy!  He reminds me to spend my money wisely =)

Excited to announce that Sew It Up has featured my Reversible Tote Tutorial once again on Allfreesewing.com!!  It was a "loved" favorite last week!  Yippeee!!  Thank you again Sew It Up!!
